This little daypack feels flimsy but is suitable for its purpose and can be stuffed into other luggage or bags for overflow or short moving around. It is not suitable for any serious hiking of course, but it is not advertised for that. I like the tiny size it packs down too. Keep in mind that water "resistance" is not water proof, but you could not expect that either from this product. It is as it is and is fit for purpose. I'd give it a 4.5 but am feeling charitable at the moment and give it a 5.
Took this hiking across Utah. Very durable and holds just enough for a day hike. Very easy to pack in my luggage versus my usual bulky hiking bag at home.
My only complaint was that it is a very thin bag. If you don't have a lot in it, it can be awkward to carry. My boyfriend and I solved this by always bringing a light sweatshirt with us to create more area in the bag.
We used this on a recent trip. We love that it is lightweight and packs so small - it took up very little room in my carry-on luggage. It was also really handy once we were there, for carrying snacks, water bottles and lightweight extra layers while we were out exploring. Lightly loaded, it is very comfortable to carry, and I hardly noticed it when I was wearing it. Note that the light weight and packability does mean this is not a rugged pack. Zippers mechanisms are small and I felt like we needed to be careful with them, as they may not have last with rough use (yet to be determined). We have not yet used the pack under wet conditions. One small issue we experienced is that water bottles will slide out or the bottle pockets when you bend over.
I actually keep this little backpack inside my big backpack and have used it a TON to go on hikes, or generally to carry a few smaller items when I don't want to take my big backpack around (full of my laptop, etc, etc).
This little guy folds up into a tiny pouch, but when expanded is a really solid, well-made backpack with enough room to put a couple of sweatshirts, phones, keys, whatever - and then two bottles or drinks in the outside pocket.
It's just what the Dr. ordered. Love it and am psyched I found it.
I got both the 16L and the 24L. I decided the 24L would work for more occasions so I will be returning the 16L. I love how light it is and how it folds up into a bag that fits in the palm of my hand. I am going to put in a light jacket, water bottle, wallet, keys, some snacks, a battery charger and bear spray for my trip to Yellowstone. The straps are super basic, so don't make the pack heavy. I will update after my trip.
